Are your helmet sizes the same as other brands?

Currently, there is no universal size chart in the automotive helmet industry. There are many variables between helmet models depending on shell, head shape, EPS foam, lining etc. Please note the size chart listed in the description for the helmet you are considering and select the appropriate size according to the chart listed. Note: Sizing varies between models. One size for a full face helmet will vary slightly from an open face motocross/ATV helmet.


Are your helmets DOT approved?

Yes! Every Typhoon Helmets model is US DOT FMVSS 218 certified at minimum. This means that they are manufactured to meet or exceed The United States Department of Transportation's safety guidelines and requirements. Our Snell M2015 and SA2015 rated helmets are tested and approved to their current safety standards.


Are your helmets tested for their DOT certification?

We ensure that the helmets we sell meet the DOT standard by having them tested regularly at an independent test facility. This includes all youth models, adult models, and our Snell M2015 helmets.


When will my order ship?

We guarantee same day shipping for all orders placed by 12pm EST Monday through Friday. In an effort to get your order to you as soon as possible, we may extend the cutoff time depending on the volume of packages per day. 


My head measurement is in between sizes. Which size is best?

In many cases, choosing the larger size helmet would be best. A helmet that is too tight can become uncomfortable over time. 


When will I receive my tracking number?

A tracking number will be emailed once your order has been processed prior to your order being packed for shipping. Tracking numbers are sent to the email address you provide at checkout. Orders placed before 12pm EST Monday-Friday will receive a tracking number no later than 5pm EST. Please note that tracking info may not be updated until your package has arrived at the main sorting facility. 


Do you have spare parts, or offer repair service?

Spare visors, shields and parts can be found HERE. If your helmet is used, and beyond the return period, you can contact us for repairs or miscellaneous parts. These parts can include: vents, pads, lining, chin skirts, etc. that may not be listed on typhoonhelmets.com 

Note: We can not fix irreparable damages such as: cracked shell, missing or modified head restraints, EPS lining, or any deterioration from use.


Where is the Snell sticker or number on my Snell helmet?

The Snell certification label is located inside the helmet underneath the padded lining attached to the EPS foam. 


Why does my helmet smell?

Just like a new car has that “new car smell” your new helmet has that “new helmet smell”. It will dissipate over a few days when you leave it out to air.  


Can I return my helmet?

Yes you can as long as it is new, unused and has the original packaging. Please review our return policy.


Do you have a storefront?

Yes we do. Our location is 1634 Marion Ave in Grand Haven MI. We are open Mon-Fri 9-5 and Saturday mornings typically throughout late spring to early Fall. 


Will my item be back ordered?

No. We do not do back orders. If you can put it in your cart and purchase it then we have it in stock. If you can’t then we are currently out or it is a discontinued item.


Do you offer coupon codes?

Coupon codes are offered to those who subscribe to our emails, and to those following us on social media.


What stores carry Typhoon Helmets?

Our helmets are in stores across the US. Unfortunately, we do not have a dealer directory at this time. 

Payments and Checkout

Why was my order declined?

Cards may be declined for a number of reasons, but the most common reason for a declined credit transaction is a mismatched billing and shipping address. The billing and shipping address will need to match for most orders by most credit card companies. 

You can simply use PayPal guest checkout to process credit card payments if the address on your credit card statement doesn't match the shipping address.


Do I need a PayPal account to use PayPal at checkout?

You do not need a PayPal account to process credit/debit cards when using PayPal as your payment method. We encourage PayPal for customers who would like their order shipped to a different address than the address affiliated with their cred card.


Do you take orders over the phone?

Sorry – at this time we are not set up to take orders over the phone.
